That might be a good one to say in a bad interview just to see the reaction.2018 AWS Solutions Architect - Associate (Apr) 2017 VCAP6-DCV Deploy (Oct) 2016 Storage+ (Jan)

No, seriously.Working on CCENT and nearly almost there. Retake in December and pass, then after that, study for ICND2 and work on CCNA Security and look into Microsoft certifications. No previous IT certs.

If you recite it enough, you may not even need a mnemonic anymore. I've reached that point with the OSI Model and Planets (My Very Excited Mother Just Served Us Nine Pizzas -- Pluto was still a planet when I was in school).CarlSaiyed wrote: »I guess I'm the only backwards one. That is the other one I used to use (bottom-up). I couldn't remember what it was. For some reason top-down seems to be easier to remember as a mnemonic.Application : All
Presentation : PRO
Session : SPORTS
Transport: TEAMS
Network: NEED
Data-link: DEFENSIVE
Physical: PLAYERS
GREAT IF YOU ARE A FOOTBALL FAN
This is how I remember how to make crossover cables.
10/100 Ethernet = University of Miami (Cross the Orange and Green Pairs)
T1 = University of Florida (Cross the Orange and Blue Pairs)R&S: CCENT → CCNA → CCNP → CCIE [ ]
Security: CCNA [ ]
Virtualization: VCA-DCV [ ] -

I thought, why don't we all share how we remember them :P
So here is my one (top to bottom)
[Application] All
[Presentation] Pros
[Session] Search
[Transport] Top
[Network] Notch
[Data Link] Donut
[Physical] Places
The CBT Nugget one is not too bad either (Bottom to Top)
[Application] Away
[Presentation] Pizza
[Session] Sausage
[Transport] Throw
[Network] Not
[Data Link] Do
[Physical] Please
I always repeat the bottom-up way for remembering this. Never knew there was on from the top to the bottom so thanks for that -

I honestly don't use a mnemonic to memorize the layers. I have beat the layers into my head so much and wrote them down so many times that I just know it cold. But, I will forever remember the mnemonic listed above! Then I would have sausage pizzas brought in for the entire class. We would recite the OSI 7 layer model while eating sausage pizza. No one could ever figure out why I had such high success rates in my networking 101 course and almost perfect retention. Students loved the class.
