Another line on the old resume.
I just passed Network+ with a 750, and I am pretty impressed with my results.
Here's my study material:
1. FastPass
2. Sybex Network+ study guide
3. Streetsmarts Network+
4. Proprofs quiz school
5. http://www.studynotes.net/Quiz_Index.htm
6. http://www.techexams.net/coexams.shtml
7. Preplogic free download network+ exam (comes with voucher)
8. Network Tables (bring this as your cramsheet before you take your test. (don't remember what forum I got this from, but it was very helpful)
From my experience:
- Know your ports
- Know your topologies
- Learn how to apply your networking knowledge to troubleshoot (streetsmarts book helped me out since I've got only 9 months exp in IT)
- Know patchpanels, punchdowns, MDF, 110 block
- Know your OSI
- Know your Netware stuff covered in the books

Just to make sure, you know that the A+/N+ combo only works for the MCSA while the MCSE has stricter requirements for its electives such as Security+ or one of their exams.Jumping on the IT blogging band wagon -- http://www.jefferyland.com/

Or maybe I should get my CCNA, since its only 2 exams, and then shoot for MCSE. LOL, getting certs is just to addicting. -

You'll more than likely end up getting your MCSA while working on your MCSE, unless you take the harder MCSE core exams before the 290, 291, and client exam.CERTS: VCDX #110 / VCAP-DCA #500 (v5 & 4) / VCAP-DCD #10(v5 & 4) / VCP 5 & 4 / EMCISA / MCSE 2003 / MCTS: Vista / CCNA / CCENT / Security+ / Network+ / Project+ / CIW Database Design Specialist, Professional, Associate -

This path sounds very good, I might consider acquiring MCSA then W2008. The only problem I have is recruiters love seeing that MCSE title, hopefully the MCSA title will give me some prestige and the W2008 path will give the knowledge to land that Admin job I've been wanting.
