When going to map a Virtual Disk on VMWare Workstation 6 (I am using Vista Ultimate)...
I do select the file name (the disk file) and on the Volume text box below it says: The disk file has no volumes. Please select another disk file.
How can I associate a volume to a disk file?

I believe you need to go into computer management > storage > disk management and delete the volume on the drive or partition that you want to use (i.e. it needs to be seen as unallocated space instead of say, an NTFS partition). Obviously, you don't want to do this if you have important data on that volume.
