How to view the last search page on Google?

When you search for something on Google and get 1 million pages in result, how do you see what the last page or link is? Is there a way? This is needed for research.

There must be a way.

You can edit the start number to get where you need to go. I'm not sure if there's a way to start at the end. You do need the num=x line as well, that tells it how many results to return. It won't work without it. 1000 is the max. Maybe that'll help.

Wish it went past 1000. Sure would be cool to see what the very end of the internet looks like for a search.
