2501 memory issue

This is probably a newb question but I upgraded a 2501 to 16/16 and now, as you can see from the show version, I get (boot) after the router name. Why is that? That's not normal is it? Does it have anything to do with the memory not being compatible? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Netwurk Member Posts: 1,155 ■■■■■□□□□□New flash memory isn't going to have an IOS on it - you need to put one on it, normally via TFTP. One option would be to reinstall your old flash chip and then save the IOS to a TFTP server. Of course now that you've upgraded flash to 16MB, you'll probably want to upgrade your IOS (since you can now use the larger images).
