I'm interested in getting taking the MCTS and possibly following up with MCPD Web Developer. What would be the best way for me to prepare for this exam with a tight budget and only time for self-study?
MS Press books and Visual Studio Express (you might need the full version, or a trial of it depending on how much they get into the IDE). They also offer great educational discounts if you're a student. I think I got the full version for like $90. Check out www.journeyed.com if you think you'll be eligible.
Also, I think this is a great resource: http://www.learnvisualstudio.net/ Lifetime membership is $160 and they have a lot of really, really good CBTs.

I've browsed through these but haven't watched them. I believe the videos are from http://learnvisualstudio.net as dynamik has mentioned.
