Terminal Services CALs
Just asked my company to purchase Terminal Services CALs for our Windows 2003 server.
They purchased 2008 CALs.
Found this on MS's site:
Q. Can I downgrade a TS CAL for use on a Windows 2003 terminal server?

Yes. You may downgrade Windows Server 2008 TS CALs (either user or device).
So now you know and knowing if half the battle.
