I am not sure if I should conduct my own search for another job/contract, or let my recruiter do it for me. I figure if I am out of work long enough, I'd have to file for unemployment, which means they would be losing some money, so I figure it would be in their best interest to find me another contract. Does anyone have any experience with this? I have never done temp/contract work before, so I am little anxious and uncertain. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Does keeping your employment situation exclusively in the hands of someone else sound like a good idea? The recruiter is trying to do what's in their best interest, not yours. If they have bigger fish to fry, they're not gonna make finding you a new contract a top priority.

If they find you something, great, but don't bank on it.

I recommend checking it out on their site or find a copy of the article some where. Lots of good tips. First off don't let pride get in the way of getting un-employment, you earned the money. And don't count on someone else to get you a job, hit the bricks so to speak, the harder you look the better chance you got to find a new job.
