The Geekiest Thing You've EVER Seen. . . Guaranteed

SlowhandSlowhand Mod Posts: 5,161 Mod
This was shown to me by my roommate and friend, Technomancer. It is quite possibly the GEEKIEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN!

Open your favorite command-line environment and telnet to towel.blinkenlights.nl

If you don't think this is simultaneaously the most outrageously nerdy and awesome thing you've ever seen. . . then we need to get together for beers TONIGHT; you obvously don't drink nearly enough. icon_lol.gif

    That's awesome.

Someone has too much time on their hands obviously, though. :)

Yes, that's wickedly the geekiest thing ever. Who needs the trilogy DVD set when you got telnet.

Seeing as I started at a time when there was no web or web browsers and all there was telnet and ftp and usenet to get to something that might be interesting or useful, I have got to say that that is extremely good. (downloading a pron picture and reassembling the various parts of the image could take a whole day back then)

Must have taken absolutely ages to do... just imagine how long.. and the absolute bastion of nerdiness I have ever seen. (discounting the guy with a zx81 hooked up to external drives and dot matrix printers and wires running all over the place covering about 10 square feet of space with the little black zx81 sitting 4 in by 3 in right in the centre.

Glad I saw this for my 500th post. Thanks for posting that.

Enough was enough at the robot auction for me though. I live in wonder that they might have done the entire film !

Watched again and I think you, in 2008, have found THE ultimate geek....

What is more worrying is that, as you watch it, you just know the guy has some serious blisters !

Oh yes, there were spaceship battles, etc too. I left it running and came back almost 10 minutes later, still running...
