but victorious (only just!)
Well, I join netadmin in the 700 score club!!
Just back from my showdown with the beast, cut it very very close. For the last few days, I was thinking of delaying this yet again. But with that second shot offer in hand, I decided to take on the beast.
47 questions in all. Heavily dominated by DNS, I think about 20-25 questions were wholly DNS and a few others had something to do with DNS. A sprinkling of DHCP, RRAS, IPSec and WSUS. I thought my DNS was strong, but the test proved otherwise, took a severe beating in that section. Interestingly, 100% on RRAS (netadmin... ). I have never liked IPSec, scraped out 50% on it. DHCP looked like 60%. I am the patching admin for my company, so WSUS wasnt that difficult, but there was a weird question and I swear I have never seen anything like that on the WSUS console. I cant write it here obviously, but would love to find out if any of you guys have seen this.
I was second guessing myself on quite a few questions, what astorrs told me the other day about delegations and stubs sure came in handy. Thanks a million Andrew! After I did all the questions, I went back and changed a few answers, which I guess got me over the line (optimistically).
A big thank you to all of you for your answers. This forum and its members are just indispensable.
P.S. I am going to change my display name from "MobilOne" to "Essendon", want to stop doing free advertisement for the last company that I worked for. Changing it to the name of my beloved football club :P

astorrs Member Posts: 3,139 ■■■■■■□□□□Congrats MobileOne! I know you've been working hard on this one, "they don't call it the beast for nothing" as others have said.
Glad to have helped wherever I did. What's next for you? Client exam or onto 293 (or a break )? -
Essendon Member Posts: 4,546 ■■■■■■■■■■O man, need a break, my head hurts, my eyes are so sore that the screen is blurry!! Besides, as I told you I am proposing to my girlfriend soon, so if she gives me the green light (which I know she will), I am going to take a month off work and head to Malaysia for a break. I think I deserve a break, and need a break!!

Good luck and have fun in KL -
Essendon Member Posts: 4,546 ■■■■■■■■■■O yeah, KL is absolutely magnificent. Been there once, except for the humidity, it's just a great place to be in (atleast for a holiday). The central post office building there looks like a 5 star hotel, and then there are the Petronas towers and the Menara, fabulous architecture. There's so much greenery everywhere, real treat for the eyes. cant wait to go there.

I hate changing questions! I never know if it will help (pass) or make it worse(fail). The worst part is not getting an accurate score report, so you never (really) know what you got right or wrong.
Anyway well done and congratsIsn't Bill such a Great Guy!!!! -

Man, the 700 club is growing pretty fast. Sounds like you have a lot of good things going on for you right now, that's awesome. No doubt, go relax for a while, you earned it. I also took a few week break after the 291. These long winded Microsoft questions can turn your brain to mush.
Also, for you guys that are scoring high in RRAS (Snadam)...you do realize it was my motivation, to help you not follow in my footsteps, that has caused this, right? I'm going to have to go ahead and take credit for these perfect RRAS scoresWIP: CCENT/CCNA (.....probably) -
undomiel Member Posts: 2,818The 294 was the one I changed the most answers on and pulled a 700 as well. It kills me that I'll never know if I pulled my score up or lowered it down to 700!
Congratulations on your pass though! Enjoy your break.Jumping on the IT blogging band wagon -- http://www.jefferyland.com/ -

You should rethink the engagement thing. Women totally get in the way of studying. Where are your priorities man?
Congrats on the pass! -

Well your right about women getting in the way of studying. But it's about time that I pull off this engagement thing, fantastic girl, very understanding, I am sure she's lemme do what I want to. BTW, the last chick I saw was a senior software engineer, a wiz at Java and C# and what not. This one's better and a more normal person. I am sure you guys know the kind of head programmers carry on their shoulders!! -
Essendon Member Posts: 4,546 ■■■■■■■■■■Thank you everyone for all your support. This forum and its members are awesome!
BTW, beers on me when any one of you ever comes to Melbourne. I know I will have to watch out for dynamik ( I have read of his drinking abilities) -

In my defense, just because I can fly out to Melbourne for free drinks and come out ahead financially, doesn't mean I have a problem. Plus, I hear there's a senior software engineer that's available. I'm pretty sure my wife would be ok with that since it's different countries and all... -
