I just wanted to let you guys know I accepted a new job!
I had a hectic weekend so I was unable to update.
I put my two weeks in on Friday, and they had me leave that day due to security reasons. ( with pay of course.)
Anywho
I accepted a job offer as a Help Desk Analyst for $40K/year.
I was making $29K/year at my previous company!

The sensitive nature of my job makes it brutal when someone leaves. The very moment people are fired, transferred, or quit... they are escorted to their car, never to return again. Someone will box up your stuff and you may or may not get all of it back. I purposely take things home when stuff starts to pile up, out of fear of not being able to recover my things if something happens. Luckily, they need me more than I need them :P
Be careful juggling multiple job opportunities, I have known people who have given notice and ended up without a job due to unexpected circumstances. -

Oh, and don't forget to pick up a new tie so you'll make that first good impression at the new place.

how long are you in it and what did you work and how long, i am just interested into it, cause i get nearly as much as you on your old job, and i am working for about 5 months, but i will stay here for some time cause i think it will be great on my resume, working as network/systems engineer for an isp. and after lets say 1 year or 2 i ll go the same way like you. -

Sab, but its so true that to get a decent raise in IT you need to jump to a different jobs. I just did that this past May for a $18k raise in salary. -
vCole Member Posts: 1,573 ■■■■■■■□□□I took the other job for $32K. I'm sure all of you are like.
But, it's a 20 minute drive, opposed to an hour, the other job was only 35 hrs a week, and I had to get up at 4:30am to be at work for 7.
This job is more hands on, more OT, tuition & certification reimbursement, and a much better work environment.
Also, I'll get a raise in 6 months. -

Nope. IT Analyst. I get to do physical tech work all day, and no answering phones.
