any reason I shouldn't do the old exams?
FattyAcid
I have loads of experience with the PIX/FWSM/VPN Concentrator/older IPS products but none with the ASA and newer IPS products. My employer also has the CBT Nuggets videos for SND, HIPS, etc.
Any reason why I shouldn't try to pass the SND (642-552) and HIPS (642-513) before they expire on November 17th?
Thanks!

Nope. As long as you plan to do the others to complete the CCSP in 2 (or 3, I forget) years...no reason at all.

It's 3 years. The exams will still count but as damsel_in_tha_net said, from the time you pass the first one you need to complete all of them in 3 years or the exam will no longer count.

I passed my SND but it said the Specialist Certification is valid for 2 years...
However Cisco's website states any retired professional exam may be used towards a Certification for up to 3 years...so now I am confused.....

The specialist certifications are something different:

They are only good for two years.
