If you have a full Vista Business key from your school, you will more than likely need to do a fresh install.CERTS: VCDX #110 / VCAP-DCA #500 (v5 & 4) / VCAP-DCD #10(v5 & 4) / VCP 5 & 4 / EMCISA / MCSE 2003 / MCTS: Vista / CCNA / CCENT / Security+ / Network+ / Project+ / CIW Database Design Specialist, Professional, Associate

32 doesn't upgrade to 64bit etc.

Vista Home Basic > Vista Home Premium > Vista Ultimate
Vista Business > (Vista Enterprise) > Vista Ultimate
In theory, according to the book, you CANNOT upgrade from Vista Home Basic to Vista Business.
If you want to run Vista Business on your machine, you should back-up your files etc and run a clean install of Vista Business.
Hope this helps -
