I've never done an Anytime upgrade, but I believe you have to have an upgrade key. If you have a full Vista Business key from your school, you will more than likely need to do a fresh install.

Should be able to just pop in the CD and follow the prompt for an upgrade. Assuming they are the same bittage.
32 doesn't upgrade to 64bit etc.

If you believe the MS Press Training book for windows there are two parallel but seperate upgrades tracks:
Vista Home Basic > Vista Home Premium > Vista Ultimate
Vista Business > (Vista Enterprise) > Vista Ultimate
In theory, according to the book, you CANNOT upgrade from Vista Home Basic to Vista Business.
If you want to run Vista Business on your machine, you should back-up your files etc and run a clean install of Vista Business.
Hope this helps

Yeah he nailed it on the spot you can only go from basic to home premium or ultimate.

yeah, you can go from Home basic to Business directly by just poppin in the business disk and hitting upgrade. only thing is, you will probably have to have sp1 installed first. i know i had to have that installed when i directly upgraded from home basic to ultimate.
