Transition question

I have been planning on going for MCSE:Security. For my OS requirement I am going to do 70-620 instead of my original plan of 70-270 for the option of MCITP in the future.
My question is reguarding the transition from MCSE to MCITP (taking 70-649 & 70-647). Would I still keep the MCSE:Security and gain the MCITP as an additional certification?
