Well, after about a month and a half hard study I have finally achieved my first official IT certification.
Without revealing the details I am happy to report I passed this exam with a near perfect score. Thank you very much to the advice on these boards as it has been invaluable over the last little while.
Resources used:
CBT Nuggets - watched these twice and then in the past week I have been going over weak areas in the separate videos.
Train signal video series - Watched these twice as well, Chris Byrant goes into a lot of depth that you need to know for the exam.
Cisco Press ICND1 book - Read twice, lots of detail which is good when you first get studying but a little harder to use 1-2 weeks before exam day.
Todd Lammel Sybex book- Read once, good for focusing on exam material. It went above and beyond a few times but no biggie.
ICND1 Exam Cram - Worth every last penny, this was the PERFECT resource to have 2 weeks before taking my test. It went through every topic and everything you need to know for the exam.
And of course the most important resource: my Cisco 851w router, which provided me the invaluable experience I needed to work the sims.
At the end of the day and all that reading + router work, the exam was cake . Now, onto the ICND2!!!

Congratulations on the pass! -

I think both are good content wise, there is just a big difference in the instructors. Jeremy makes everything interesting and puts equal importance on everything. Where as Chris kind of labels stuff like "I would be surprised if you got your CCENT not knowing this". Kind of kicks you into gear on what you really need to know. I'd probably take the CBTnuggets over trainsignal if I had to choose but both are excellent together. -

Do you suggest knocking out CBT video for CCENT? are there alot of difference with the two videos? -
JavonR Member Posts: 245Yes, I would suggest the CBT videos a mandatory resource , but that's just personal preference.
