Failed BSCI:600 UPDATE Passed 844

jeanathanjeanathan Member Posts: 163
Whow, that was a tuff test.

Guys know your IPV6 in detail, know OSPFv3, and last but not least know Multicast at the command line!

I took the test because I just finished a course designed around the 2003 test materials. My class did not cover the IPV6, Multicast, or OSPFv3 topics. I got the CBT Nuggets for this and will be studying before my Secondshot in a week.

I think Cisco did a good job following the offical exam materials guide.

SIMS were not as difficult as they could have been.

Be capable of looking at debug, show command materials and troubleshooting.

Ha took my own advice and passed: 100% on OSPF! 87% on IPV6 :)
I am so happy right now, I would have bet money that I failed it by 10 points.
Many thank to everyone for the encouragement!

It's nice to see people picking themselves up and getting ready for a second shot! It's inspiring!

Good luck on your next(and final hopefully!) attempt!

No, because you won't need it ;)

You know what your weak areas are, and you're going to nail it the second time around.

How long do you think it's going to take you to revise for it? You'll get a free retake if you can do it within 11 days.

With the Second Chance, that was just your practice test. :D

Good Luck on your BSCI Exam!! icon_thumright.gif

Don't feel bad, I just bombed too.

I did not have hardly any OSPFv3, however. IS-IS was huge on mine, and Multicasting as well. As said already..take the lowest score on your report, and hit that section hard, until you know it in and out..then move on. Be sure to take advantage of the second chance promotion if you can..you only have until October 15th!!

I hate to say this, but it does make me feel better that I am not the only one to try and fail at the BSCI. Thanks for the kind words Mrock4.

In the past 24hours I did the chapter on IPV6, I think I know all my FF00::/8 multicast prefixes and 6to4 tunnels now. Still have to learn multicast as it was a heavily covered topic on the exam. Plus have to go back and touch EIGRP and OSPF, I really studied IS-IS and BGP before. I can probably be ready to annihilate this thing by 13th or 14th. Many thanks for the encouraging words dynamik.

And to everyone else, thanks for the morale booster. I am feeling highly motivated to take this test on again! icon_twisted.gif

Man, as soon as I saw my score report, I drove home and rescheduled..it was crazy. I was shocked by how much multicasting was on mine. I definitely need to hit that hard...

Let me know how you do bro..I'm taking mine on the 13th. I've got 4 days before the test off of work, so hopefully I can get some serious hours in then.

No worries, just try to learn from your mistakes and move forward. Study up on what you were weak on, review everything else, then go back and knock that sucker out of the park. Good luck! :D
