Just Starting Out

Hi all !!!!!

I just would like to share my thoughts. I find it refreshing reading a site that promotes hard work towards the goal of certification. Not just brain ****.

I've been working with PC's for some time now, 12 + years, while I've been in the Air Force. I'm due to retire soon. So it was time to get off my duff and get my certs.

WebMaster thanks for this site! I have my first test (hardware) on Tuesday. The TechNotes are a huge plus as a study aid.

Just got back from the testing center.....I passed Wahooooo!!!!

Got a 619! Not as good as I wanted to score, but it's still a passing score.

Things that tripped me up;
- CPU's (upgrading giving different types)
- Troubleshooting give scenario (2 of 4 choices could be correct)
- DSL/ISDN

The subject matter wasn't that hard, just didn’t study hard enough in some of the areas. Just had 1 bluetooth question. Lots of troubleshooting scenarios everything from hard drives, floppies to printers.

I’m giving myself 2 weeks to study for the OS test.

Well I just couldn't wait any longer.

I went ahead and tested today, scored a 575, not that great but it's a pass. I'm now A+ certified. It feels pretty good boys and girls.

Thanks for the encouragement it helps allot.

I'm cracking into the Network + hard now. TCP/IP is fun!!!
