If you have a boot sector virus are you able to use fdisk /mbr from a 98 boot disk on 9x/nt/win2000/xp systems?

thaibxr1@hotmail.com Member Posts: 6 ■□□□□□□□□□what about nt?
and how would I use fixmbr? from the recovery console?
install cd or win2000 boot disks?
Which is the best way.
And how should it be done on xp?

RussS Member Posts: 2,068 ■■■□□□□□□□Not sure about NT as I have never played with it.
For W2K and XP use the recovery disks - or in XP you can also use the install CD and select R on the first prompt. Never done that with W2K except using recovery disks or with the recovery console built in as a start option.www.supercross.com
