Question about which test (MCSA) to take next...

Hey everyone,

I have the 70-270 and 70-290 completed, I will take the 70-291 this week. I am currently in a security class in college that uses a S+ study book as the class book. I think I will take that as the elective for the MCSA. I am pretty sure that I want to try for the MCSE, if so, which test should I take next? I also am considering taking a break on Microsoft and taking the CCNA..

Thanks,

I would go for the Security+ next, if you're looking for a break from MS tests. Otherwise, 70-293. I had the same question a while back. http://techexams.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=38795

    70-649 - Soon.

I would go ahead and continue to get your MCSE if you are still wanting it. Material always overlaps from test to test and the longer you break the harder it is to get back into it.

I'd personally take the Security+ as you're already going over the material. I would then finish MCSE while things are fresh in your mind and then do your CCNA if you still want to do it at that time. Good luck!

Don't take a break in the middle of the Microsoft stuff, might kill your mojo.

Well, security+ is supposed to be halfway decent for getting your toes wet in security, so why not if you have the cash?

I would say this is a decent path for you if you are interested in security.

    70-270
    70-290
    70-291
    Security+

    then
    70-293
    70-294
    70-299
    70-351

then if you want to get into Cisco...
    CCENT
    CCNA
    CCNA: Security
    CCNP

Thanks for the responses. I think that looks like a pretty good plan. My school is supposed to become an E2C partner soon though (50% off for CompTIA tests). That would be my only reason for delaying the Security+. Thanks for the roadmap, I think that is what I will do.

What is the voucher cost for the CCENT, and for the CCNA ? (if I took the 2 tests to get the CCNA vs the 1)

    Thanks,
