Restoring XP to Vista
Can I ask help in restoring my backup files from XP to Vista
This is what I've done so far:
Backed up about 100 files, music, pictures, etc, from the Documents and Settings folder, and also made a backup from the desktop folder.
I then found a way to Restore these files to my OTHER LAPTOP which is running Vista. I have a different Administrator name on each Laptop.
NOW, when I try to access the files on the new Vista Laptop, I get an ACESS DENIED MESSAGE, that I do not have permissions, but I am the administrator.
I have managed to take ownership of some of these files, But as I said there are more than 1000 files, it will take me forever to take ownership of all these separate music, and other files. How can I take ownership of EVERYTHING IN JUST ONE OR TWO STEPS. Please. Help. Thankyou!! Ric
P.S. When it asked me if I wanted to use the original Security Settings, I did not check that box.
