Secedit questions

Hello,

I had a couple questions about the Secedit command that I'm not exactly understanding.

1) What does the /configure switch do, and is it mandatory?

2) I was reading that using the /overwrite command is good to use, to empty the database. One thing I tried to read about, but couldn't understand was: If there are conflicting settings between the current template, and the template that you're about to import: Which one actually goes into effect?

Thanks for your help in advance

I didn't remember your answers since I never use secedit, but that website was #1 in results for Google. It cearly shows that the /configure has an option of using /overwrite. So that right there tells you that it does not overwrite by default unless you specify the switch.

Also, you can see below that /configure is one of the main options. The main things you can do with secedit are:
    secedit /analyze
    secedit /configure
    secedit /export
    etc..

No problem. And honestly, please don't take this as me being a jerk. But as I said, I found that site and all your answers in 30 seconds of searching. If you really want to be successful, you need to find easy things like this on your own and show some initiative. Microsoft has a vast knowledgebase out there at support.microsoft.com and technet.microsoft.com. Not to mention all the blogs out there. By all means, ask questions, but please try to find the answer yourself first. It really helps you learn things on the way of searching.

Again, not trying to be a jerk, just trying to help you out long-term.
