I backed up (image based) my Vista PC onto a second disk (still 600GB free) which was fine .. now I tried to make another backup because I have to try some beta driver.
BUT : It does not allow me to choose that particular drive anymore but only lets me backing up to a DVD drive ..
Is tis "normal" ?

Is there a way to delete that backup ? I tried to just plain deleting the file but it remains "logged".My own knowledge base made public: http://open902.com -

Edit: which didn't work
Edit2 : that didn't work eitherC:\>wbadmin delete catalog wbadmin 1.0 - Backup command-line tool (C) Copyright 2004 Microsoft Corp. Are you sure that you want to delete the catalog? If you delete the catalog, you will need to create a new set of backups. [Y] Yes [N] No y The backup catalog has been successfully deleted.
Still there .. took over ownership of the folder and shift deleted it - according to Complete Backup its still there
Wish I'd used Acronis
Edit3 : Ok, had to go through the registry and needed to delete the keys manually .. so this is more user friendly how ? [/rant]
Edit4: I give up - it does say now "there are no backups" but when I create one it still refuses to re-use the data drive as destination .. this is stupid ...My own knowledge base made public: http://open902.com -
kctxau Member Posts: 130You might try going into disk management and changing the drive letter. If it works, you get another 20+ drives to use (depending on your current drive assignment).

Slowhand Mod Posts: 5,161 ModThat's definitely one thing I do not like about Vista, as much as I like other things about it: the lack of NT Backup. There are plenty of free tools out there, but it's still quite frustrating.
