Funny had to post

I co-worker brought his PC in today for me to clean up. I asked him what his password was to which he replied "Its on a big sticker on the top of the machine.". OK I'm sure many of the uninformed do this but that funny part was the actual password.

password (it took two lines on the sticker) = 11zzqq36--283CK546+?=76

I congratulated him on the longest I've seen.

Don't laugh - I have a couple clients that use the MS COA sticker as their password so it meets complexity requirements but is not something the average social engineer would think of.

    That's hilarious.

How long did he have it set to that?

Did he have it memorized yet?

Did you leave it like that?

Now THAT is class - who would think of that :) Like Joe from "Friends" who writes his pin number for the atm card on the atm :)

not supposed to ask customers for their password, they are supposed to type it in everytime you need it.

good password, NOT guessable if the sticker was not there.

I've seen some sales guys laptops were they've gone to the trouble of making professional laminated labels with their passwords to stick to the case icon_sad.gif sometimes I wish we could just give them etcha-sketches.
We responded to the Year 2000 issue with "Y2K" solutions...isn't this the kind of thinking that got us into trouble in the first place?
