If it still "sorta" reads. Recovery programs like Ontrack work well. If it doesn't read at all... there is no cheap way i am aware of.-Daniel -

To simply unerase files or to repair the file system? The usual CHKDSK-type tools will perform a file recovery. If the problem is that the memory is failing because it has exceeded its read/write cycle limit on most of the memory cells, there's nothing you can to about that except move the data to a new drive. Fast USB memory has a 10K cycle limit, while the slow memory has a 100K cycle limit.
