CTs take on BSCI

cisco_troopercisco_trooper Member Posts: 1,441 ■■■■□□□□□□
So, after about 10 - 12 solid hours of review today I think I'm going to schedule this test. I've reviewed a ton and labbed a ton this last couple weeks and I think I'm ready to give this sucker a nice swift kick in the junk. Wish me luck because I'm ready for some new subject matter.

Work will be paying for it, and I won't be back in to work until Tuesday, so I won't have a date until then.

So I take it you're gonna rock the CCNP then CCIP?? Might not hurt to go after the BGP exam next since you love it so much..

Yep, I think that is the current plan. CCNP -> CCIP -> CCIE R&S -> CCIE SP. That is obviously going to be a long journey...but it will one day be complete.

That's incredibly close to my plans!!! International study partners!!! :) hehe

It's close to mine..minus the SP part..I gotta stay within my means..

But really, that'll be an interesting combo. Study R&S (CCNP), then SP stuff (CCIP), then back to R&S (CCIE R&S), then back to SP.

Good Luck and don't underestimate this exam. It will ask you questions that will make you look at routing protocols in a new way :D

If anybody OVERestimate's this exam..it's undoubtedly CT. This guy could probably pass the BGP exam for CCIP based on his studies for the BSCI. I'm just happy you finally set a date CT icon_lol.gif

Good luck man. Can't wait for you to hit this BCMSN junk up soon!

    Good luck mate :)

I'm sure you'll hit this test for six.... judging by the amount of studying you've completed :)

Thanks guys, I'm just in cram mode now, trying not to forget different things, seed metrics, timers, and certain addresses - namely IPv6 and Multicast. Basically, just cramming all the rote memorization crap now. In regards to everything else - I'm golden...

So after taking your time to learn something, you're still back to memorizing a bunch of crap. icon_wink.gif

Yeah, sometimes little ironies can't be avoided. I'm afraid of getting my IPv6 Multicast addresses all screwed up. The IPv6 stuff doesn't get reinforced at all during my day to day activities other than in the lab. The IPv4 stuff can't touch me as I have a strong frame of reference for most of those topics to begin with, AND I use it every day.

..And, I'm not going to learn anything before Friday morning anyway. If I don't know it by now, I'm screwed.

If it makes you feel any better, I was still unsure about my IPv6 Multicast addresses 20 minutes before my test. I hate IPv6..it's going to be a rough transition for me!

You are not the only one. Years of working with IPv4 makes it a hard transition to IPv6.

    CT,
I seem to recall that you have been on this track for a while now. You seem to have a pretty solid understanding of this material from some of the posts I've seen from you. How long have you been studying for this, if you dont mind? I myself will have done over 6 months of studying for BSCI by the time I take the test.

Well, good luck! I know you'll get this one.

Yes sir, it has indeed been quite a while. I was at it pretty hardcore from Dec thru about the beginning of March...when I started approaching burnout and took a little sybbatical, if you will. Then I decided it was time to leave Sprint because it was just looking too unstable with all of their firings and layoffs, etc, especially since I was a contractor, so I got a new job that kept me pretty busy in the beginning. You know the routine, learn their business, understand their network, and clean up any crap you don't like. So probably about a month ago I started looking at BGP again because I had a need for it. That re-sparked my interest and I have been reviewing and labbing stuff for the last 2 or 3 weeks trying to get this off my plate. Needless to say, there will not be too many words to describe the level of icon_evil.gif I will be if I somehow botch this test tomorrow.
