Hi everyone,
I am new to this forum so please bear with me.

Could anyone tell me whether A+ is a pre-requisite for the Security+ exam ?

I am mainly interested in networking field and I am looking forward to take Security+ in a few months. So any legitimate and/or official links to the syllabus for Security+ would be helpful.

cheers

Nope, there are no prerequisites for Security+. However, you should have a decent amount of OS and networking knowledge. You're going to make things much harder on yourself if you don't have a good foundation already.

Usually people find it goes the smoothest when they go A+ then Network+ then Security+.

But as you can see, I'm not going in that order either. I'm studying for Security+ and I have found that having Network+ is helping me a lot. There is overlap

I think you will find that A+ has very little to do with the Security+ exam. You may find Network+ useful but it is not required. I have Security+ but I do not plan on taking either A+ or Network+.

I think the overall base of knowledge you get from A+ and N+ is what will help you understand the concepts in the Security+ exam.
