I just got received a 3550 I bought off of eBay and am trying to connect to it's console port, unfortunately I'm not having much luck.
I've tried just about every serial port settings combination and the best I get is every once in a while "Switch>" will show up, but when I try to type anything only every few letters will show up (and occasionally random crap). I'm hoping that I'm just doing something wrong and the that the switch is okay.
I made the console cable myself and only used three wires, but it works fine with the routers I have.
Any suggestions would be very appreciated.
