word 2003 .dot file

i'm trying to copy the Normal.dot file over to another computer so that I can keep my autotext entries.

so what i'm doing is replacing the Normal.dot int %appdata%\Microsoft\Templates on the original computer and replacing the same file on the new computer.

but when I open up word i'm not gettting the autotext I have added

What's another word for Thesaurus?

    First, I would create a new blank one (obviously backing up your normal.dot file which contains your settigns). So close Word and search for all normal.dot files, you may also find some temp. ones (like ~normal.dot or $normal.dot).

    Reopen Word - this will create a new normal.dot file

    Now Close and open Word AGAIN then

    Then Go to Tools > Templates and Addins

    Bottom left corner you got ORGANIZER Then on the right hand side you should see something like "open file" with normal.dot in the drop down already ..

    Cannot send you a screenshot to be honest as I have Word 2007 - but you should see it there ...
