CAN I HAVE DNS AND NIS ON THE SAME LINUX RHEL-5 ?

i got som problems with the nis clients when configuring,............but i donno correctly
do i need to setup ldap for loggin clients?.............
i hav a setup with a nis server with home folder shared.......
