i need help... i have been trying to reinstall my XP but after the files load from the XP CD it stops responding when it get to "SETUP STARTING WINDOWS" can take hours and nothing comes up.. what can i do.. i need my system done fast .. pls help

Try cleaning the CD or using another one. It might be dirty or damaged. You might also have problems with your CD/DVD drive, HD, or memory, but I'd start with the media.

Possible bad CD-ROM drive. Happened to me before and got the same thing.

What type of disk is it? Retail, OEM, or a copy?

Are you able to install from a network share?
