Best graphics card for about $100???
Hey all, so I've built myself a budget gaming rig/all-purpose pc for about $500 after mail in reb's etc. from new egg. My final piece of the puzzle I still need is a video card. Being a Network admin I haven't paid much attention to the gaming world or the hardware world in a loooooong time. Last time I was really into it, Vodoo cards were the shizznit haha.
Anyway, my budget for a graphics card is about $100...$110 MAX. What card should I get? I need the best bang for the buck. I've got a semi-decent 500w psu w/ 18a on the 12v rails. Not too shabby.
Oh and it should be a pci exp slot. Any thoughts? My initial thought was this card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127379
I have no allegiance to NVidia or ATI so please, don't hold back. Just let me know what the best card for the money is.
thanks!!!

paintb4707 Member Posts: 420I'd have to agree. The nVidia GT line is a great bang for the buck.
I had a 7800GT that played just about every game at max for about 2 1/2 years. Except Crysis of course. -

TechJunky Member Posts: 881I have been plenty happy with my 9600GT. I would imagine the 9800 would be even better. I haven't found a game that taxes my system yet either that I find enjoyable to play.

Can't really comment on ATI. I've always been a nvidia fan myself since I find that more games are optimized for it. Whether or not this makes a difference who knows. -
