Hi all!

Could you please help me on my switch 3550-48 problem?
The switch shown below:
switch:
switch:
switch:
switch:
switch:
switch:
switch:

Used a command "flash_init" and got a message "switch: flash_init
Initializing Flash...
flashfs[0]: unable to allocate available block.
...done Initializing Flash.
Boot Sector Filesystem (bs:) installed, fsid: 3
" unable to allocate available block.

I used xmodem to copy IOS image but after I click send, it's give a message " Transfer cancelled by remote system".

How could I resolve this issue and return the switch to working condition?

Your reply is very much appreciated.

Best regards

sounds like the flash may be bad or missing. When you try to transfer the image via xmodem, are you telling your terminal program to upload the file to the switch?

It might be worth formatting the flash and trying again.

You also may want to try a different console cable, I have heard of people having problems using xmodem with some console cables.
