Getting Nervous (BCMSN) Dec 23 UPDATE PASSED!!!!

Sitting the test on the 23 of Dec.

I have gone through the offical self study book, and lab manual. CBT's and lots of practice labs. I also have been working on a very large layer 3 switched network (7 pairs of redundant 650x switches) for a living. I do lots of config, ACL, vlan, port channel etc stuff daily at work.

Somethings I feel very prepared for, other things I just don't...

Done a lot of non cisco wireless and voip over the years, but it is not translating to cisco as much as I would have hoped....


I have been getting consit 80% or high on the practive exams that are included on the cd that comes with the cisco book... Hopefully by friday of next week I can be hitting around 90 to 100%...


If anyone has any suggestions for my last week of study let me know. I plan on continuing to go over the computer flash card/quiz that came with the cisco book. As well as some labs on my home network every day till the test...

    The ONT study material has a lot of good information on wireless and voice. Not sure if you have completed ONT yet or not, or have already pruchased the study material. May a good use of a couple of hours of study time if you have access to the material.
    I don't claim to be an expert, but I sure would like to become one someday.

    Good luck...I just took the BCMSN yesterday, was tough, but easier than I thought. Just make sure to review any topics you feel a little weak on. I spent the week before the exam just reviewing notes and some last minute detailed research.

    Between study time and your experience I'm sure you'll kick its butt :D

    I don't know about the rest of you guys, but when I get close to test day I kinda get all nervous and wig out when reviewing if I can't puke up every last detail.


    Plus with this test I kind of feel that the dept of wifi and voip should be on a different test.... Not trying to complain, but that is just how I feel.


    Other than my complaing, THANKS FOR THE SUPPORT!!!

    That was a VERY difficult test. I do feel that it was a little unbalanced... The cisco books are 3/4 switching stuff ( i.e. non wireless/voip).. but the test doesn't really reflect that... Could be I got a "special" test.... Anyway it is done.


    i got a 909... And I am very surprised that i did that well. I was getting nervous as the test progressed.


    Anyway it is over and I will be moving on to BCSI. My goal for that is end of March very beginning of april (my first child is expected around april 15). So I figure it would be in my best interest to get it done before then.

    Thanks to everyone that supported me and thanks goodness it is over!

    Well once I got the flux capacitor part down it was pretty easy, the time machine stuff that is.

    Yes I decided to move the test date up because I was sick of studying and I wanted to spend some quality time with my wife before the holidays passed me by.

    This totally made me freak out for a couple of seconds since my ISCW exam is on monday...I kept looking at the thread thinking, but I *know* it's only the 18th...isn't it?!

    Congratulations...I bet it feels good to get such a great early Christmas present! Hopefully I'll be joining the celebrations on monday...I'm starting to have exam material-related dreams, which is always a good sign. LOL!
