Cisco NM-1A-OC3SMI

I recently purchased two 3640s and each had a NM-1A-OC3SMI. What I'm trying to find out is if that card will be usefully to me down the road in Cisco certification. (I'm planning on finishing my CCNA then moving on to CCNP and hopefully CCIP). If it's not useful I'll probably sell it and try to recoup some of what I paid for the 3640s.

Not really useful unless you plan on buying a second one.

I have two already, one in each of my 3640s.

You can use them for your ATM links if you're thinking of going for the Cisco CCIE Service Provider Lab.

While I like the idea of going for CCIE Service Provider, it will be so long before I'm even at a point of knowing whether I want to go that route. I think I'll stick one on eBay and see what I can get for it, if there are no bites I'll just keep them.

If if is too far away from using them inyour studies, maybe you would be better off ebaying them and getting a router and some cheep switches instead. They are going for around £250 on ebay.
