Hi all ,

ill like to buy Switch 2950-24

but wish is better to buy 2950 or 2960 , there will be 300 $ for the 2960 .


what is better for the CCNA and CCNP .

AND how many is better to buy 4 sw or 6 . for studding .

I bought a 2950 off of ebay for $50, a lot cheaper that that site. The 2960 is newer, but not necessary for CCNA/CCNP study. If you're going to drop that much money on a switch and plan to go on to the CCNP I would buy a 3550 (but only if your going to continue on to the CCNP).

I can't see a reason to buy more than 4 switches.

A 2950 would definitely do you just fine. IMO, the price difference between the 2960 and 2950 compared to functionality isn't enough to go with the 2960. Even for the CCNP, the 2950 would do fine, and if you want layer 3 functionality, as said above, step up to a used 3550 with EMI.
