TestOut & the 70-290

Hello Gang, I am a noob here but I have scheduled my 70-290 exam for 12/29 and have a few questions. I have been working through TestOut's 70-290 CD and started taking the full "Typical Exam" on Sunday. I have taken it 3 times now and have scored 93% twice and 95% once. My question is, How close does TestOut resemble the actual test? They claim that if you pass their practice exam twice and fail the actual exam that they will cover it?? I have also just purchased the newest release of the MS self paced training book on the 70-290 and plan to start working through thier practice CD. What other avenues should I take in preparation? Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Cheers!

I have not used TestOut for 290, but I did for 270. In that case, their questions were way harder (longer, more intricate) that what I actually got on the exam, so passing their test is definitely a good sign. I did use MS Press for 290, though, and found that their practice questions resembled the most actual exam questions (in style, and difficulty level). Hope that helps, good luck studying!

I would say its worth getting some additional practice exams as opposed to doing the same exam again and again, as the questions will be the same (or at least I believe it is with the Testout software).

That aside if you past it first time with 92% then your definately on the right track icon_smile.gif
I know I only got something like 60% when I took Testouts exam first time so cant really talk.

Its always worth checking out other practice test suites though, such as PrepLogic, Transcender etc

Good luck for the 29th though.

They were pretty accurate on the 70-290. But I am still gonna recommend you snag transcender as well. If you can score inthe 90% on those, you are ready.

Thanks for the replies, I appreciate it. I will definately check out transcender. This will be my first microsoft exam so I don't really know what to expect...

Hey dkirk, I'm a testout fanatic, it definitely prepares you, everyone at my job uses Testout and Train Signal, thats what DOD has recommended for us. The simulations on testout is amazing!!!
