How to long to take exam?

Hi,
I was looking to register for this exam and saw that the appointment time frame was for three hours. I don't remember needing three hours for any of my previous certs. Albeit, my other certs were from Novell and Comptia, I was done in about an hour. My question is how long did it take everyone that passed to take the exam? I am guessing MS is allowing more time because of the simulations. This would be my first MS cert. I can't take it until next year as I get reimbursed from my employer and they can't disburse funds until the new year.

elaverick1981 Member Posts: 161I took 45 mins on 70-290 and got a decent 900 score, admittedly I do speed read but I don't see anyone running out of time on this one. I don't think the time limit is designed to trip anyone up on this one.MCSE - Windows 2003

I'm planning to sit for this one before the 31st.
thanks -
Devin McCloud Member Posts: 133Yeah , this has really bugged me too. I have four different source that give four different length in time for the exam. One said your allowed 4 hours, one said 1.5 hr, one unlimited, and another said 2 hr! So your guess is as good as mine.
Here's what Testout says:
A traditional, nonadaptive certification exam contains about 50-65 questions and allows you 90 minutes to complete the exam.
A short-form traditional certification exam contains about 30 questions, and allows you 60 minutes to complete the exam.
An adaptive exam contains between 15-35 questions, and has varying time limits.
A case study exam contains about four case studies with about 10 questions each. You usually have between three and four hours to complete the exam. The man who trades freedom for security does not deserve nor will he ever receive either. -

Devin McCloud Member Posts: 133Well, that's encouraging considering I used 90 minutes out of 90 for my Network+ test. And I felt pressured on the time limit. I was looking more for the best possible score rather then just a pass, so I reread some questions several times. The man who trades freedom for security does not deserve nor will he ever receive either.
