Something for Star Trek fans. I hadn't heard about this until today: http://gadgets.boingboing.net/2008/12/18/rip-majel-barret.html and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Majel_Barrett

That's very sad. This could truly be a sign of the end of the Star Trek franchise, (outside of syndication, that is). Her characters in the series were iconic, there won't be anyone to replace the voice we've recognized at the Enterprise computer for over 40 years, and, of course, she looked fantastic in those old skirt-uniforms. icon_wink.gif

She will be missed and the future of Star Trek won't be the same without her. icon_cry.gif

Had a buddy respond to her death as "that is pretty far to go, just to avoid a JJ Abrams Star trek movie" I thought that was pretty dang funny.
