Hi 2 ALL
Guys I have started working for a company which I have been dreaming for quite sometime, my duty is call centre agent to provide support to user's both remotely and telephonically, after short training I'm using a Unix application called QVTR, (I am not too sure the exact name of the program)
Now I am trying to get some knowledge regarding this software or unix OS in general, my questions is: what is the best training material can I study unix? and is there any unix related forum or section, such as this one where I can post and read from?
All your replies are greately appreciated
Many Thanks

kenny831 Member Posts: 266Hello dfjama,
I found this site:
http://www.ee.surrey.ac.uk/Teaching/Unix/
it has a tutorial on the basic Unix commands.
I found the forums at Anandtech to be helpful, they have good suggestions on which Linux distro to start with.

If you have a Mac with OSX, you have a Unix machine already it uses the BSD version of Unix. You access the Unix command line through the "terminal".
There is a couple of guys on this site that are Unix xperts, Im sure they will chime in.

kenny831 Member Posts: 266You should ask for advice on the Linux+ forum on this site also. Linux uses the same commands as Unix. Some of the Linux+ books might be helpful.

I can't really comment on those titles yet since I don't have that class until Summer semester but it might be something to look into.WGU PROGRESS
