What is the "default" power scheme settings for
the "portable/laptop" power scheme in windows xp.
I am getting two different differing notes on this, the book
says 15 minutes for the monitor and 30 minutes for the hardrive,
but my system says : 15 minutes and "never" .for hardrive.
Which was is the correct "default" settings. Thanks, Ric

The Microsoft default for the portable/laptop power scheme setting is to turn off the HD after 30 minutes - I found a link from MS here that gives a great table of the different power scheme settings & how they affect the different components & how they differ when you're plugged into AC power vs battery power. The link is geared towards Tablet PC's, but they apply to "regular" laptops as well.
If your settings are different, that might be because of your laptop manufacturer or they've been changed from the default settings.Currently Studying For: Nothing (cert-wise, anyway)
