Hi,
I just saw the following question on practice exams, and wondered: "why do we need wins if we have dns?".
The question is below, thatnks in advance.
8. You just upgraded a network from Novell 4.2/Windows NT 4 to a Windows NT4/Windows 2000 mixed environment. The network consists of 8 locations each with it's own domain. You are about to install Active Directory, but you want to make sure dynamic network name resolution and registration works for all systems and the network is ready for Active Directory. Which of the following should you implement in this environment?
a. WINS
b. DHCP
c. DNS
d. NWHOSTS
Answer(s): a. WINS
b. DHCP
c. DNS
