How long does it take you to build a master image?
How long would you say it should take you to build a Laptop from a windows cd from scratch?
So what i mean is installing windows xp with sp2, running sysprep
to installing all apps required and then creating a ghost image using multicasting
We install the following software on a basic PC build:
Adobe Reader, flash Player, Shockwave player
Java
Office 2003 with sp3
Cisco VPN
Cute pdf writer
Roxio 9
Win DVD
Quicktime
Winzip
MS Silverlight
Lotus notes 7
Office 2007 compatibility pack
Sav AV
Running windows update and also finding all the required drivers
Just want to get an idea of how long it takes other IT staff to build a master image...
It takes me about 7 hours, if i do it while juggling 1st and 2nd line calls... is that a long time? I support over 400 users in a team of 3 and we are so short staff...
Also do you use IT checksheets before you deploy a PC/laptop, to double check an engineers work? We do and it adds another 30mins to deployment time.
