Vmware Virtual IDE Hard disks???

I think it is possible,

I got Vmware workstation 6 for my birthday and i want to setup RAID5 on a virtual machine! (I know it will be useless but i need to practice)

I was wandering if there is any way I can setup Virtual IDE Hard disks on a Vm made with Workstation 6??? I know it is possible but i dont know how! I have searched high and low!!!

By default in Workstation all disks are IDE, you would need to select SCSI during the VM creation (remember to pick custom on that 1st screen) if you wanted something else, and since your asking the question, chances are all your VMs are currently using IDE disks anyway.

So using SCSI will allow me to create multiple virtual hard disks?

You can use either. You'll be able to create a lot more SCSI disks than IDE though. Depends on your needs.

Yup, 4 IDE devices (including CD-ROM) vs. 60 SCSI devices.

In Workstation right click on the VM (with it powered off) and click Edit Settings then click Add and select Hard Disk, then just follow the wizard.
