270 or 620 for MCSA

I have A+ and Net+ which will go toward the MCSA elective. 290 and 291 are core and manadatory.

Considering I have about the same amount of experience with both XP and vista, which exam is easier to pass, and which will take less time to prepare for?

I haven't taken the XP exam (270) but the general consensus is that 620 is easier.

Go for 620 anyway, even though it is easier. It gives you a leg up on getting MCITP: Enterprise Administrator, plus nets you MCTS if you don't have it already.

Study for both the 270 and the 620 and then test out on the 620 cert. It will pay for it in the end.

I did some more reading around on this forum and it seems that 620 doesn't cover quite a bit of the older stuff. So its probably a good idea then to at least read up the 270 material and familiarize myself with it just for the knowledge. But exam wise, concentrate on 620. where I work all the machines run vista and the server is 2003. I'm just an IT Tech right now, hopefully more certs will help me move up!

Yeah i would do the 620 as well since it counts for 2008 certs as well. The material in the 270 should also be learned.

How about having a small amount of study on the 622 as that features most of the GP stuff with the advanced features.... After all, I felt that the 620 & 622 = 720 (ish)
