Recommend a book with CCENT exam practice questions?

SurferdudeHBSurferdudeHB Member Posts: 199 ■■■□□□□□□□
I have the CCENT/CCNA ICND1 Official Exam Certification Guide, 2nd Edition but I want to really test my knowledge with exam questions.

Can someone recommend a book specifically with practice exam questions, thank you.

J.

I don't know of any books that are specifically like that, but you might want to check out software like Transcender.

I took a class at my local college that was Cisco certified and had access to the Cisco learning center.

I really liked the format and the chapter questions at the end. Would like to find something similar since that I'm not taking the class anymore.

The exam cert guides from Cisco Press come with a practice test engine last time I checked.

Besides the testing software from Boson, PrepLogic, Transcender you can get the CCNA Flash Cards and Exam Practice Pack (CCENT Exam 640-822 and CCNA Exams 640-816 and 640-802), 3rd Edition from Cisco Press. In the past I think Boson has done the Cisco Press Test Engine.

I picked up the PrepLogic questions (from their recent sales) and The Cisco Press Flash Cards/Exams (which I've used in the past for the CCNP, CCSP, CCVP, and CCIE R&S Written) which I'm going to use when I go for my CCENT Certification :D

Aren't we all glad that this isn't a college course that is graded on a bell-curve!!?

I personally used the Sybex series of books for the CCENT/CCNA. They were great, but only offered limited practice exams with the bonus CD that was included. Read through the book once thoroughly, then read through it a second time to get a hold of all the topics that did not make sense the first time through. The best method of retention is applying what it taught in the book by going through practice lab exercises, IMHO.

I really am trying to collect the entire set :D

And you never know, maybe I'll write some technotes and/or techlabs in my spare time -- and actually studying for and taking the exam could help.

I can confirm that the practice exam that comes with the Flash Cards is the Boson Exam.

I just used the CCENT/CCNA ICND1 offical guide and a lab. The questions in the offical guide make the actual test questions look easy.

    Crisb20:

Do you mean the Odom book? That's the one I'm using. I've been hitting the Boson Test Exam pretty hard (the one that comes with the book).
