Hello, I came across 2 old pieces of equipment that I was wondering if anyone knew what they are and what they are used. More importantly, if I can use them in study for Cisco certs. They look like some sort of old T1 type circuits/cards. They are: Adtran T400-DDST III. Anyone know??

Thanks in advance.

    No, not useful.

Very old stuff (1990's). You need the T400 box to even use those cards, and even then I'm not sure what you'd do with them. Here's the manual if you're curious about them.

Ok, thanks. The cards are still in the orignal boxes that house them with the orignal sticker on them that has AT&T and the circuit numbers and such. They were actually from the place that my dad works, several years ago they upgraded their infrastructure there and my dad being a pack rat grabbed everything they were throwing out even if he didn't know what it was. I was over at there house here while back and was digging around all of his "computer stuff" that he had acquired over the years and found them. They are actually in great shape, the 4 pair cable going into them has been cut but thats it. Anyway, I was just wondering if I could imulate some sort of point to point with them but by what you all are saying it looks like I can't. Again, thanks for the answers!

Only Adtran thingie I still have is an old ISDN modem. It's about as useless as your 400

    :)

Best way to get going (labwise) with the CCNA is to grab the cheapest 2500 you can find and try to fit it into your lab. Just avoid the token ring models.

I bought a 2501 last year for $5 at an old computer shop. So there are deals out there. Just not many on ebay anymore, since it costs more to ship the darn things than what they are worth.

    Good luck with the CCENT/CCNA
