The only way to cure/kill a virus is to reformat. -

Most AV packages will remove it. You need to make sure all the Windows machines on your network have the relevant patches and hotfixes applied as this worm spreads due to an already fixed vulnerability.got a Conficker Virus on the network any Idea how to cure it kill it? -

I think he was just talking best practices. i.e. once your system has been compromised, you can't really be sure it's completely clean. -

Check stinger .. this virus is in the list.
it is stand alone, does not need updates, no installation, Fast, and it is free.

Shoot the network, take it out of the equation.
Seriously though, it's removable by many AV programs. And also as tiersten has mentioned, make sure all machines are updated as this was patched a long time ago: Microsoft Security Bulletin MS08-067 – Critical: Vulnerability in Server Service Could Allow Remote Code Execution (958644)
