Answer file for cd-based installation.

ronorono Member Posts: 121 ■■■□□□□□□□
I've created/renamed the unattended.txt to winnt.sif ,saved on a floppy disk and then rebootd my pc with my OEM XP PRO cd and installtion process starts ;I put my floppy disk in ,but the installation process runs normally...I have to attend it! ?:)

On my floppy disk both files are saved ,batch and winnt...so I'm wondering how can I make this working?

Any idea? It's not important ..I'm just practicing for the 70-270 test..

Thanks in advance!

Are you sure the answer file is OK? Did you create it with the Setup Manager?

and on my floppy disk is another file, a batch file called wint.sif!so ,actually are 2 files ,both called wint.sif, one of them text file which I pasted here and a batch file!

is all this right? In Windows XP Pro Resource Kit 2nd edition ,they write that the file should be renamed to winnt.sif!?

    Looks good to me.
then rebootd my pc with my OEM XP PRO cd and installtion process starts ;I put my floppy disk
Just to be sure: you should insert the floppy disk as soon as the computer boots from the CD, not when the installation process starts. If you configured the computer (in the bios) to boot from the CD-rom before the floppy disk, you can put in the floppy as soon as you start the computer.
