Yes, you need do take the pro series exam. Here's what it says in that MS link from the other thread:
How to earn your MCITP: Enterprise Administrator certification
To earn this certification, you must pass five exams: four Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) prerequisite exams and one Professional Series exam.

It then goes on to list the required exams. You've got one of the exams done with the 620, so now you have 4 left to complete your MCITP.

depends on what you want to be supporting. I'm going the MCSA path, then maybe MCSE, then maybe down the line upgrade to MCITP. From what I can tell, there seems to be more of a demand for MCSA/MCSE than for MCITP on the Server 2008, but that may be changing in the future as folks switch over to the newer stuff. But I really don't see the demand for MCSA/MCSE going away anytime soon...folks are usually slow & reluctant to switch over to new server OSs

if you have the money to go the mcse2003 path and than upgrade to MCITP: server 2008 certifications i suggets you take this path. why i say this is many Microsoft client companies are till running there IT infrastructure on windows server 2003 technologies.

I'd agree with the two previous posts. If you can afford it go for MCSE 2003 and then upgrade via 70-649 & 70-647 to MCITP:EA. 2003 still has a good market share. MS have been reported as saying that they won't retire MCSE. And as you've proved yourself MCSE is still by far the better known qualification. Get your MCSE and then you can confidently tell employers that you've got the certs for both.

All the demand I see in my job search is for MCSEs. Hardly anyone recognizes my MCITP. I even had to explain to a few that there is no Server 2008 MCSE that it is now the MCITP. So I would definitely recommend finishing out the MCSE track and then do the upgrade.

I just went through this dilemma myself. I managed to get my MCSA 2003 and then had to decide to continue with MCSE 2003 or upgrade to the 2008 certification.
I have decided to go the MCSE route, simply because there is a lot of useful stuff to learn, such as security, that the real world is still using.
By the time I've finished the MCSE and the 2008 certs, there should be more 2008 environments in existence. Right now, if I get a 2008 cert, my next job is still likely to be with 2003 and I have to 'step backwards'. Then by the time I get a job with 2008, I will have forgotten much of what I studied for it (as I understand that 2008 is vastly different from 2003).
