Transcender: Download or CD?

I want to purchase the Transcender for the 70-291 test, but I'm wondering about in what form should I buy it. Buying the download is kind of attractive, because I would have Transcender on my computer quickly, versus buying the cd and having to wait for it in the mail for several days. Has anybody bought a downloaded version before? Should I stick to buying the CD instead? Any feedback is appreciated.

I never buy the CD. The download has the exact same content as the CD AFAIK.

Recent: 11/2019 - RHCSA (RHEL 7); 2/2019 - Updated VCP to 6.5 (just a few days before VMware discontinued the re-cert policy...)

Future: Probably continued Red Hat Immersion, Possibly VCAP Design, or maybe a completely different path. Depends on job demands...

    +1

If you're worried about losing the download or it not completing, their system allows you to re-download anything you buy. You can only activate it twice though.

I've activated some of mine about a dozen times. I bought the MCSE 2003 pack in, well, 2003 (icon_redface.gif), and I just finally went through it the last couple of years. Once you hit your limit, just give them a call and explain the situation. I wish they'd allow you to deactivate them, so you can install them on new computers, etc. without any hassle. I still hit them up once in awhile for a little review. And yes, I always go with the download since it's cheaper.

What I do is load all my Transcenders and related stuff into a VM instead, precisely to avoid this issue. Copying the VM to another machine takes time, but I find that depending on the period in my life, I want to use them on a laptop a lot, and then that changes to doing them at home on my workstation. Even if you're not needing that kind of flexibility as far as portability is concerned, it's still a lot easier IMO to make an XP VM and install all that crap once. It's not like Transcenders don't run well in VM's. icon_wink.gif

P.S. +1 on downloading it. Same as CD.
    Good luck to all!

Yea, it was too late by the time I thought of that. That's exactly my plan of action for the next round of installs though.

I download all mine, too...haven't had any problem activating it on my different machines (work, home, laptop).

you might find this interesting! -> if you download the transcender software, then you can modify the http link in the address bar to the exam number you want and download the full version!

you cant use it obviously, because you need to activate it! but interesting none the less!

Roughly one month ago I purchased the Transcender practice exam for 70-445 on CD. Prior to logging off their site, they said I could download it immediately, which I did, and was able to get going immediately.
Two days later I received the CDs in the mail.

Just got Transcender download version for CCNA. In the confirmation email said something about even if I got the cd I could still use the download option.

Happy over all some great questions and answers, would want to be good I guess 200 bucks!

I downloaded Transcender a few days ago, and it seems to be very helpful. Besides scoring very low on the tests, I give it a thumbs up icon_lol.gif
